Hand Dyed Ecoprint and Shibori Silk Chiffon One-of-a-Kind Scarf in Green and Orange

$75.00
Eucalyptus was used to ecoprint this lovely piece of silk chiffon, which was then overdyed in a copper solution using itajime shibori with square clamps; then the ends were dipped in natural dyes logwood and weld. The end result is one-of-a-kind scarf 069.

The ecoprinting process involves direct contact of the plant materials to the cloth and steaming the scarf to set the dyes; this often results in minor wrinkles and creases, which are considered part of the character of the scarf, and contribute the inherent beauty inspired by nature.

The bottom of each scarf has unique lined markings where the string was tied around the scarf as it steamed. This is often my favorite part.

Fiber content: Silk Chiffon. This fabric is very lightweight, sheer, and drapes gracefully.

Measurements: 62 inches long by 12 inches wide.

Hand wash in cool water with mild soap and lay flat to dry. Wear crinkled, or lightly iron at silk setting...and remember, wrinkles have character!

This garment ships USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation in the US.
