Hand Dyed Ecoprint and Shibori Long Silk Crepe de Chine One-of-a-Kind Scarf in Green, Orange, Lavender, Yellow
$145.00
This one-of-a-kind stunningly beautiful piece was created by combining 2 hand-dyeing processes: ecoprinting and shibori. Eucalyptus, hibiscus, dahlias, and petunias were used in the ecoprinting of scarf 118, which was also immersed in Logwood natural dye using a shibori technique. This scarf is truly a unique work of art.
The ecoprinting tradition is a process of bundling and steaming plant materials directly into the cloth; this often results in minor wrinkles and creases, which are considered part of the character of the scarf, and contribute the inherent beauty inspired by nature. No inks, dyes or paints are used...just the colors from the flowers and leaves themselves.
The bottom of each scarf has unique lined markings where the string was tied around the scarf as it steamed. This is often my favorite part.
Fiber content: Silk Stone Wash Crepe de Chine. This fabric has a beautiful satin sheen and drapes gracefully.
Measurements: 72 inches long by 14 inches wide.
Hand wash in cool water with mild soap and lay flat to dry. Wear crinkled, or lightly iron at silk setting...and remember, wrinkles have character!
This garment ships USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation in the US.
